Many collectors plan their tattoo sessions around days off; they also opt for vacations for this purpose. One of the most common questions I get asked is, 'How many days should I set aside for my tattoo?' In this post, my team and I will share how some of my collectors made space in their busy schedules., along with time management tips from expert Alexis Haselberger to help you understand and simplify the process.
New York City, 2025

How Many Days Will My Project Take?
We can discuss your project during a consultation: A consultation involves an analysis of your project, so you'll know exactly how many days and sessions are needed.
Types of Sessions
Sometimes we wonder if it's possible to speed up the process or how long each session takes. Yes, you can spped up the process, and here are the options:
• Pain-friendly: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (a comfortable experience for body and mind)
• Intense session: 10 a.m. - midnight (two double sessions in one day)
Session Blocks: Using session blocks allows for more effective project planning.

Once you know how many and what type of sessions you'll have, the next step is to prioritize these appointments in your schedule.
Here are some tips from Alexis Haselberger when choosing your dates:
Schedule your tattoo appointments during a season with fewer responsibilities.
Make the most of your vacation periods.
Consider taking days off or even unpaid leave.
As an additional tip, Alexis Haselberger recommends doubling up on your time: you can catch up on other tasks while you're in your session.
Large tattoos require planning. You can get them done in a few weeks or over several months. Ksenia traveled from Sterling, Virginia. After her consultation, we decided to divide her project into an initial block of two sessions, and another with the remaining three sessions three months later.

Vitor, from New Jersey, chose a more consistent approach: he completed his 10 sessions in three months, arranging two sessions per week.

Alexis also wants to share with you a resource showing you 5 ways you can reclaim up to 2
hours a day for yourself. You can grab it Here.

CONCLUSION:
Ksenia and Vitor managed to complete their tattoos despite complicated schedules; you too can achieve it. If you travel from far away or work full-time, there is always a way to make it happen. Plan your project, organize your sessions in blocks, and take advantage of effective time management strategies. Your tattoo is closer than you think.
If you have any questions about tattoos or how the process works, my team and I are here to help you.
